The cousins

We watched the kids (Ashley, Toby and Johnny) so CJ and Jess could do some Christmas shopping.  Lexy and Ashley played board games and dolls all evening, Johnny was his cute self sleeping, eating and smiling and Toby had us cracking up!  He is a funny little guy :)  Love those kids!!!

PARTAY!

This weekend seemed like one big party!  Friday after school we had a full house of girls, Brooke and her two friends Kenzie & Cassie and Lexy and her friend Avree.  We hung out at the house, fed everyone pizza and then headed to the football game.  Brooke got to be a flyer (up in the air during stunts) for the first time this year and the squad did a really great dance at half time (the videos just won't load on here).

On Saturday, Lexy had a birthday party to go to for her friend Chase, Brooke had a birthday party for her friend Cassie and then Mike, Lexy and I went to Toby's first birthday party that evening.

On Sunday evening Brooke had another party to go to while the rest of us stayed home and rested!!  It was her first campout and she had a blast with that group of friends!  I love that she has two completely different sets of friends and that she loves spending time with both.

Cousin playtime

Ashley and Toby came over for a little playtime while CJ & Jess went to an appointment the other day.

Lexy and Ashley have really started to play well together even though Ashley is a few years older than Lexy. They enjoyed playing restaurant, tumbling class and with Lexy's whole collection of littlest pet shop stuff!!!

Catching Up

Ok, so I know I haven't updated in a while and I left off sounding kind of down and out BUT in no way is that why I have stayed away :) Life has just been busy and I have been sick (strep).

I was disappointed to hear that the girls best interest staffing was already scheduled and that we wouldn't be able to be considered but while we had hoped that we would get things done in time we had prepared ourselves for this. So now we move on.

Because of being sick I have neglected getting the copies made and our adoption paperwork sent back in so that is first on my to do list. We will move forward with getting our homestudy update done, we know there was a reason that those three sweet girls sparked our interest enough to get off our hineys and get our homestudy done sooner rather than later. Maybe our child(ren) is already waiting for us, so we will work hard to get things done and keep our eyes and hearts open to what is in store for us :-)

Besides Lexy (first a bad cold and then an ear infection) and I being sick we have been busy going to games to watch Brooke cheer, a family fun outing to Jeepers, a girls day out for Brooke & I and Robin & Kenzie (shopping for 8th grade promotion formals), having a cousins sleep over when Ashley and baby Toby stayed overnight while CJ & Jess got to celebrate CJ's birthday with a night out and I've started watching baby Toby a couple of days a week while Jess is taking classes. I love that Brooke and Lexy have cousins around their ages. It makes for a good time for all when we get together. And I'm really excited that CJ & Jess are adding one (or two) more cousins to the mix in March!
